Action is the key!

Thinking back to when I started online in 1997 things have really changed beyond recognition. To start with there were a lot fewer people online back then.

When someone asked us if we would like to join their list we jumped at the opportunity. We got lots of useful information, and felt part of a community.

As time has progressed we have become more and more bombarded with one opportunity after another and the number of daily emails has grown to unmanageable proportions at times.

Looking back I must say I miss those early pioneering days of the Internet when a community spirit prevailed.

Information overload.

The biggest obstacle facing the modern Internet entrepreneur is information overload. There are so many opportunities, training programs, protégé programs, ebooks etc. to take up that more and more people are just missing out on getting the success they deserve online.

Why would they be missing out with so much help around? Surely all of this extra information must increase the opportunity for success.

Well, let me explain why I believe this to be the case. I have analysed the cycle of events that many people find themselves caught up in. It goes something like this...

You start a program or maybe begin reading an eBook. You are making good progress, learning lots of useful things to help you with establishing your online business. Your mind is clear and focussed and you know where you are going.

Then another interesting offer drops into your inbox and caught up by the killer sales letter you take up the offer and start using that one. It promises quicker results and anyway you have the time and ability to work on two things at once so why not increase your chances.

Before you know what's happened the first program or eBook gets relegated to the black hole, better known as your C drive. Then..., yes you've guessed it... along comes another mailer with an irresistible offer. This one also has a killer sales letter and you really must get this product before the price goes up or it goes on general release or whatever marketing inducement has been used ...and so it goes on...

Does this sound familiar to you? Has this happened to you? Don't be afraid to say yes, it's happened to all of us, it happens all the time.

Many of these programs could probably help people get their online business established on a sound footing if followed to a conclusion (although there is a lot of hype about as well) but we don't, we quit part way through.

So what is the problem with the way things are?

The big problem is, and in my opinion it is a very big problem, is that people are becoming collectors of information but, because of the speed that we are bombarded with this ever increasing volume of information, we are doing nothing with it.

We don't get time to unzip the files in many cases before the next great money-making product or opportunity arrives in our inbox.

.... and all of this takes up an incredible amount of time, in most cases ALL of the spare time you have. Before you know where you are you are spending ALL of your time opening email, downloading files and filling up your hard drive.

How many of you have taken up the offer of 117 free gifts that have been sent out by so many people this Christmas?

Are you still trying to get them all downloaded? Do you know if you have downloaded them all? Do you still have links that don't work? Do you know where you have stored them all or are some of them lost already?

See what I mean, and these are free gifts. The problem is much, much worse when you pay for something and this happens.

Something you might want to try.
Set some time aside to do some housekeeping. Switch on your computer sometime and instead of connecting to the Internet, try just searching through all of your folders on your hard drive.
Look through 'My Documents', do a search on the zip files on your Computer. I bet you'll be surprised at what you have there. Things that you thought were absolutely vital when you bought them, but then time just seemed to pass you by and you did nothing with them.

Fr.ee reports that you downloaded, that you intended to read when you had time, or when you had read all of your emails, but then forgot to get back to. Set aside some time to evaluate all of this accumulated knowledge and do something with it.

How many of them have resale rights? Can you sell them or give them away to help you build your business?

Action is the key!

" Knowledge without action, is like having no knowledge at all." - Ted Nicholas

One of the main things to come out of my evaluations over the last year has been a need to take action.

So much so that you will notice I have changed the name of this ezine to 'Action-4-Success Ezine'

Starting with this issue I will now be including articles and reports on key issues relating to building your business, interesting guest articles and early notification of new products that I have tested and found useful in my business.

Above all, I will be encouraging you all to take action.

Don't wait for everything to be perfect, believe me it never will be. Just get started with what you have, where you are now. Many of the successful people online today started with far less than we have at our disposal today. They took what they had and got started.

Over the years they learned their craft, honed their skills, and yes, made lots of mistakes along the way but in doing so learned from them and got better.

I encourage you to take action. We will be covering how to get started more in future issues but you could start by joining one of the affiliate programs featured on our website www.action-4-success.com/affiliates.html

There are still thousands of people making a very good living on the Internet with Affiliate programs.
